Get Your Chef On {Peanut Butter}

This is my first "Get Your Chef On" post and I am really excited about it!  Why?  Because the ingredient is peanut butter and I love me some peanut butter!

White Lights on Wednesdays

I tend to watch a lot of the Food Network on the weekends while the hubs sleeps in.  One of my favorite people to watch is Paula Deen.  I don't think that I have ever seen something she has made that I wouldn't eat!  OK maybe it's because I like butter and used to eat it by itself when I was a kid.  {shhhhhh!}  One morning I watched an episode where she made a fried peanut butter banana sandwich so I immediately got up and tried it out.  Yea, fat kid award goes to me!

My version goes like this... mostly because I am not fancy and didn't add honey or cinnamon to my peanut butter.  I have tried it and it is delicious both ways!

You are basically going to make a "grilled cheese" without the cheese.  Melt butter in a skillet and peanut butter one side of each piece of bread.  Slice bananas and place between the two peanut buttered pieces of bread and place the sandwich in the melted butter until golden brown, flipping once.  When it is golden brown roll the entire sandwich in cinnamon and sugar.  Slice and serve warm.

Go try it now... it's delicious and don't worry, I won't tell anyone if you are a fat kid too.  {wink}

Linking up with Julie and Jen!  Come join the party!

  6. Yum! Bring on the butter - these sound fantastic.

    I used to eat butter straight too (well... I still do on occasion, shhh). I always thought everyone else just had better self control than I did, then I realized that not everyone has the desire to eat butter, lol.

    Following you now :)
