What a week! {update on the hubs}

Wow what a week!  Remember when I wrote about the hubs being sick?  If not, you can catch up here and here.

Well, he is still sick!  I think he has seen 4 doctors now and I am so frustrated that no one seems to know what is wrong with him.

Last week he had sinus surgery to remove some polyps and clean out his nasal canal.  I was really hoping that would fix all of the breathing issues he has been having, but it doesn't seem to have done anything.

On Monday his breathing was so labored that he had get an emergency appointment at his pulmonologist.  They just put him on the same drugs he has been on for the last year... great, I am pretty sure that is going to have the same outcome... nothing.  I swear that office is full of idiots.

Tuesday nothing had changed so my mother in law called a doctor friend of theirs to ask for advice.  His advice: go see an allergist and / or go to a teaching hospital.  The hubs opted for the allergist and got a appointment the same day!  His lung function was 51%... holey crap... and his blood pressure was 130/97... holey crap again.  They couldn't do any allergy testing because they were afraid if he had a reaction they wouldn't be able to save him.  They did a breathing treatment and prescribed a higher dose of Prednisone.  Once the Prednisone kicked in he was like a new person, he could breathe!

Today he went in for allergy testing... his lung function was back up to 99% and his heart rate was down, still elevated but down.  He still has more testing to do, but so far this doctor is very thorough and the hubs really likes him.  yay!  After the first appointment this doctor had all his medical records and has found things that other doctors overlooked.  Sounds like he is on the right track!  So we are at allergies or a fungal infection... hoping for the later.

The other night I was joking with the hubs that I really hoped that he isn't allergic to our fur children... his response?  "Yea, me too I know that you would make me move out"  At least he still has his humor!

back in the day, I lived alone and the dogs slept with me... and we barely fit on a king sized bed 

I hope that by next week we will have some answers to this year long mystery illness!!
